Week 12 - "Tu es toutes rouges, eh?"

Carlos got baptized! So much of the teaching that was done with him wasn't me, but I feel so lucky I know him and his family as much as I do. They're an absolute joy to be around, and it's amazing to watch their family growing closer together in the gospel.

(And the family. We look really sunburned in this, but only time will tell. Agh, so much joy with these people!)

We received a surprise visit from the Hardys this week, who came to give us a new fan. With all five Soeurs on the job, we finally got it all put together. Truly, a triumphant moment.

(Just some fresh fish on the side of the road. Haven't eaten anything that color yet, but I might soon.)

The days are passing in a blur. Our lessons are full of the Spirit, and sometimes full of Tahitian that I don't understand in the least. And, when all else fails, I turn to the scriptures. This week, I've learned that God simply wants us to ask for blessings. That's why it's repeated countless times (Ask and you shall receive, knock and it shall be opened. Over and over and over.) In rereading the story of the brother of Jared, he doesn't even hesitate to ask, after seeing the Lord's finger, whether he can see the rest of him. I've decided that that's my goal, now - I want to be able to ask, without hesitation, to know. To have that kind of faith is going to take work, but that's why I'm on a mission after all.

Mauruuruu no to oe taime! (I keep saying the emails will get better, but who really knows anymore? I hope your all enjoying them regardles.) Je vous aime!

Soeur Sperry
