Week 15 - Petites Miracles

I have seen so many miracles out here! It's blowing my mind. Here's a couple small ones because I don't have much time:

We met a man on the side of the road who was putting some plants on a table. He called it his garden. We stopped and told him about the Book of Mormon and set up a time to meet with him again, not thinking too much of it after writing his name down. It turns out, we didn't think about it enough, because we completely forgot who he was! We could only remember after about a week when he rode by on his bike and waved at us. I did a double take and looked at Soeur Guthrie and said, "THAT'S TEREHAU!"
Later, we tried our very best to meet with him, but he wasn't there. It was no big deal, but we're always a little sad when that happens. However, we came back a half hour later to just check again, and there he was with his girlfriend! The two of them are going to be having a baby soon, and we sat down and had a lesson with them, just on the side of the road. It was so wonderful - Terehau is the guy, and his girlfriend is Christiane. They were both incredibly interested! They set up another lesson for two days later, and are eager to know as much about the gospel as possible.

Another miracle: Logan.

We have known about someone who has been "interested" in baptism for a long time, but he would never answer our calls. It seemed to be a miracle that we finally caught him on the phone, and then planned a lesson with him. That lesson seemed to be a little off, and we weren't really sure what to do. We planned another one and hoped it would be better.
Well, the night of the lesson, he called and asked if he could reschedule it. When we asked what time, he said, "Right now? Does that work?" I mean, anytime is good for the gospel, so we said yeah and headed to the church. We asked some of the elders to come with us, and luckily one of their lessons had fallen thorugh so they were able to come visit.
The elders that came with us sparked the lesson. We fixed this investigator's baptism date for the 16 March, and we know how to better help him. Truly a miracle.

And the last one: Vaihani.

This past week, we talked about setting goals that we can't achieve. We had a goal for a baptism each week that wasn't being achieved simply because we didn't have amies or people that were ready for baptism! I wanted to put a 0 desperately for this goal, but Soeur Guthrie looked at me and said, "I will never put a 0 for a goal." I sighed, said we would pray for a miracle this week, and set the goal for 1.
That day, we had a member come up to us and tell us all about her friend who had taken all the lessons already in another part of Tahiti, and was ready to get baptized that weekend in our ward. We were so lucky to be able to set up an interview and get to visit a little bit with this Sister, and she was baptized a few days ago! Her testimony is so strong, and she has a huge desire to go to the temple. She's amazing!

For transfers, I am staying in my area, but I have a new companion who I haven't met yet. Her name is Soeur Jensen, and she's from Canada! It's sad that Soeur Guthrie is leaving, but I'm excited to see what kinds of changes a new companion brings.

The picture is me in a hat that one of our amies made! The other picture is the clouds in Tahiti, which are always beautiful and remind me that God is in every detail of our lives.

Huge amounts of love from Tahiti! Heavenly Father doesn't cease to be a God of miracles.
