Week 30 - Did You Hear About the Prophet?

Yeah, basically that's how the past two weeks have been. But, there it is - President Nelson came to Tahiti! What an amazing experience. He gave some incredibly inspired counsel for the people of Tahiti.

There were so many wonderful things about the evening. I really feel like I could go on forever, but here's some highlights (as usual):

The cultural celebration was incredible! I feel so incredibly lucky to serve in a place with so much culture, so much history. It was impossible not to admire all the dancing, all the work put into such a wonderful night. Something I'll surely never forget.

The spiritual part of the evening was also amazing. The prophet extended so many invitations to the people of Tahiti, and so much of what he said reminded me of the importance of change in the Lord's Church. He wants us to become better - it's why I'm a part of the Church, but even more, it's why I'm on earth. And being a member has helped me better than any other possible way in my life. The invitations and changes he extended to us, in person, were powerful, and will surely be something we'll be discussing with not only the members but the entire island. Yay for revelation!

And, finally, the amazing feeling of love felt that night. As President Nelson was leaving, we all sang God Be With You Till We Meet Again. There were lots of tears from the choir, and we all watched and swayed and sang together. The love in the stadium swelled to bursting - it was impossible not to feel incredibly grateful for all the things he'd given to us, for his kindness, and to thank him for being so close to God. The natural instinct that the Tahitian people have to love is amazing. Their love is easily and quickly given, and doesn't end.

I feel so blessed to serve in a place with such qualities. I'm amazed, and grateful to no end!

Until we meet again :)
