Iaorana! I don't have a whole lot to report on, but this week for reading, I wanted to share a scripture from the Book of Mormon that I read, and noticed specially thanks to our study of joy that we're in the middle of doing. It's Alma 8:15. Alma is feeling a little down about himself, and then God sends an angel to help him feel better about himself:
15 Blessed art thou, Alma; therefore, lift up thy head and rejoice, for thou hast great cause to rejoice; for thou hast been faithful in keeping the commandments of God from the time which thou receivedst thy first message from him. Behold, I am he that adelivered it unto you.
Now, God might not send an angel down for all of us when we're feeling low, but this is such a proof of His love for us. Truly, our reasons to rejoice may be in the blessings we receive, but they are also in the faithfulness of our actions. Our joy is in our faithfulness! I adore this.
Anyway. I hope your weeks are awesome! Here's a few random pictures:
(a late picture from our P Day activity a few weeks ago. We had a "war" with bows and foam-tipped arrows. It was awesome.)
(Me, Soeur Whiting, and Regina at church yesterday. We all wore our Tahitian dresses and she was so happy to come with us. Her baptism is set for the 9th of November!)
Tons of love from across the Pacific,
Soeur Sperry
